Reba Dickson, a former resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved, cherished, family member, left this earth and joined her Savior on Sunday July 29th, 2018 at the age of 97. She was born in Caddo, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and Fannie Rosetta (Harrison) Winfrey. Reba married Robert Thomas Dickson in Durant, Oklahoma on October 10, 1940.
Reba was a woman who cared deeply about her family and community. She was always looking for ways to be of service to others. Her accomplishments were numerous, she was a member of; The Bryan County Heritage Association, Red River Writers Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Colonial Dames, Pink Ladies Volunteer (Hospital), Silo Baptist Church for 30+ years, current member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Denison, Texas, Silo Community Cemetery Association (Secretary), Silo Community Center Meal Program (volunteer), she also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school.
Mrs. Dickson was survived by her sons, Robert Dickson and wife Candus of Denison, Texas and Paul Dickson of Del City, Oklahoma; brothers, L.R. Winfrey of White Settlement, Texas and Wendall Winfrey of McAlester, Oklahoma; sister, Nadine Swindell of Midwest City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Gregg Dickson of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Jeff Dickson and wife Elizabeth of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great-grandchildren, Gwen Dickson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thomas Dickson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jonah Dickson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and also survived by Julie Dickson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Dickson was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Fannie Winfrey; husband, Robert Thomas Dickson; son, Doyce Gary Dickson; and brothers, Dale and Gene Winfrey.
Family hour will be from 1-2:00 PM on Saturday August 4th at the Silo Baptist Church in Silo, Oklahoma. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Bro. Dale Ballard and Bro. Tim Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery in Silo. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Silo Cemetery Association.
