Viola Lonnie Mae (Luton) Chandler of Cobb, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on September 19, 2022. She was born May 19, 1933, to William Lonzo and Mattie Elizabeth (Burnett) Luton in Allison, Texas. She married Bobby June Chandler on September 1, 1949, in Sherman, Texas.
Lonnie took care of her home and family as a homemaker. She liked working in her flower beds and taking care of her cows as well. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Lonnie was a member of Faith Temple.
Those surviving Lonnie are her son Kennith and Rhonda Chandler of Durant, Oklahoma, son Jerry and Sharon Chandler of Durant, Oklahoma, daughter Sandy and Elvis Knowles of Kenefic, Oklahoma, daughter Pam and Mark Whitmire-Schneider of Sherman, Texas, foster daughter-in-law Sharon Pilkington of Nida, Oklahoma, and daughter-in-law Denise Chandler of Kenefic, Oklahoma. Her legacy lives on with numerous grandchildren and also great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents Lonzo and Mattie Luton, husband Bobby Chandler, son lost at birth Wilburn Lonzo, son Robert Chandler and foster son Mike Pilkington, brothers Clifton, Butch and Richard Luton, sisters Dorothy Chandler, Imogene Markham, Cleavie Hariss, and Cordie Hitchcock.
A family hour of visitation is set for Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 7:00 to 8:00 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Graveside service is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Cemetery in Silo, Oklahoma. The service will be livestreamed on the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Facebook page. Lonnie’s grandsons will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
