Services for Cherry Dawn Bowen, 77, of Silo, who passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her residence, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Northwest Church of Christ in Durant with Bro. Bud Amlin and Bro. Donny Simmons officiating. Cherry Dawn was born May 18, 1932, in Higgins, TX to Eugene and Mary Lou (Haley) Guinn. She married Tommy Jack Bowen on April 19, 1952 in Borger, Texas.
She had worked for the Silo School Systems, and raised several children, dogs, and birds. She was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed spending time at local and state baseball and basketball games. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cherry Dawn was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents, and brother Darryel Guinn.
She is survived by her sons Tim Bowen, Tommy Bowen and wife Patty, Billy Jack Bowen and wife Tammy, all of Silo, and Randy Bowen and wife Stephanie of Stuart; daughter Dawna Bowen of Silo; brother Richard Guinn and wife Belva of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Dr. Lori Gwyn and husband Jim; Scott Bowen, Brandi Marshall and husband Chad; Haleigh House and husband Jason, Justin Bowen, Vance Bowen, Courtney Loper, Ryan Bowen, Adam Bowen, LaCreta Bowen, Trevor Bowen, and Zane Bowen; and great-grandchildren Jackson and Kendi House, Aniston Loper, and Caroline and Jacob Gwyn.
Family hour will be Friday from 7-8 p.m. at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery in Silo. Pallbearers are Scott Bowen, Justin Bowen, Vance Bowen, Ryan Bowen, Adam Bowen, Trevor Bowen, and Zane Bowen. Memorials can be sent to Mead Church of Christ, 2971 Church Rd., Mead, OK 73449.
