Laureda Jouree Benedict a resident of Mead, Oklahoma passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma and joined her Savior on March 26, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born in Tolbert, Texas to Howard Luther Green and Cleo Carmen Thomas Green on January 1, 1928. Laureda married Marion Claude Benedict in Denison, Texas on November 26, 1945.
Laureda was a member of the Mead Baptist Church. She was employed by the Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas as a clerk for 17 years. Laureda enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions, and working in her yard.
Mrs. Benedict is survived by her children, Marion Dwaine Benedict and wife Rachael of Garland, Texas, Ronnie Howard Benedict and wife Marilyn of Waxahachie, Texas, Terry Glenn Benedict of Midlothian, Texas, and Sherry Lynn York of Mead, Oklahoma; grandchildren, David Benedict and wife Bethanie of Utah, Kerrie Crane and husband Adam of Virginia, Bret Benedict of Austin, Texas, and Russell and Jason Benedict.
Mrs. Benedict was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Cleo Green; beloved husband, Marion Claude Benedict.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask that donations be made to the Mead Baptist Church Building Fund,
Family hour will be from7-8:00 PM on Thursday March 29th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 10:00 AM Friday at the Mead Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery in Silo.
