Grover Tom Anderson

Funeral services for Grover Thomas "Tom" Anderson, age 84, of Ravenna, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Steven Alexander, grandson, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Muskogee, will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery. Tom passed away Monday night, Nov. 26, 2007, at his residence.

Tom was born June 2, 1923, in Colbert, son of Lilbren Dennis Anderson and Delphia Deloris Proffitt Anderson. He attended school in Earlsboro, Pearson and Mashburn. Tom married Lois Alene Davidson, Nov. 22, 1941, in Durant. He was a member of Sandy Baptist Church. Tom was a farmer, dozer operator and horse trader.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Flora Anderson; brothers, Clarence Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Roy Edgar Anderson, John Vaughn and J. C. Vaughn; sisters, Bessie Sturdivan, Clara Cesar, Ruby Staton, Zelta Booker, twins, Selma Cassio and Thelma Baggio and Ruby Mae Simpson; great-grandchildren, William Alexander, John Floyd and Jordan Alexander.

Surviving him are his wife, of the home; sons Thomas Anderson and wife, Carol of Ravenna, Texas, and Keith Anderson of Palestine, Texas; daughters, Katy Alexander and husband, Woodie of Achille, and Gail St. Clair and husband, Larry of Sherman, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Steven Alexander and wife, Lorie, Bill Alexander and wife, Pennie, Denise Floyd and husband, Steve, Stefanie Sammis and husband, Brad, Kevin Seals and wife, Sandy, Paul Anderson and wife, Angela, Tracey Mosley, Doug Stutts and wife, Shawn, Crystal Stutts, Angela Abernathy and husband, Jim and Cynthia St. Clair; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Anderson and wife, Ramona of Garland, Texas, Dennis Anderson and wife, Pat of Denison, sister, Willie Faye Arnold of Garland; sisters-in-law, Shirley Vaughn of Ravenna and June Vaughn of Muleshoe, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bill Alexander, Kevin Seals, Paul Anderson, Doug Stutts, Steve Floyd and Brad Sammis. Honorary pallbearers will be Blanton Hanes, Waymon Walker, Lloyd Venable, Weldon Underwood, Lester Hall, Levis Walker and Joe Walker.
