James “Jim” Frederick Turner, 78, passed away peacefully on August 2 in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born in Denison, Texas, to Delta and Fred Turner on July 24, 1940. He graduated from Yuba High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Though Jim lived in Texas longer than he lived in Oklahoma, he never forgot his roots and stayed heavily engrained in the community in which he once lived. A lifelong Oklahoma football fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Sooners. This sharp dressed man loved taking cross country road trips, admiring fancy cars, and caring for friends and family.
Jim was sincerely loved by all who knew him as “Bub.” He had an affinity for making people laugh without even trying. He loved to reminisce stories of earlier times and relished the moments he spent with family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by parents Delta and Fred Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Lauren; his children Mike (Meredith) Turner, Bret (Jillian) Turner, Megan (Paul) Crowe, brother John (Susan) Turner. Jim also leaves behind grandchildren (Graham, Sebastian, Freddie, Will, Everett, Matilda and Thomas), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
