Oleta Mae Clark Staton

Mrs. Oleta Staton of Yuba, Oklahoma passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday June 20, 2010 at her home at the age of 91 years 3 months 28 days.. She was born Oleta Mae Clark February 22, 1919 in Kemp, Oklahoma to Norman and Anna Mae (Thaxton) Clark. Oleta will be remembered as a dedicated wife taking care of her husband for over 40 years. She married Wallace W. Staton December 24, 19 41 in Yuba, Oklahoma.

She loved to spend time with her family especially her Grandchildren. Mrs. Oleta also enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. Oleta lived all of her life in Oklahoma with the exception of 3 years where she lived in Levelland, Texas, where she graduated High School. Mrs. Staton was also a member of the Methodist Faith..

She is Survived by her Sons Phillip Staton and wife Jane of Calera, Oklahoma, James "Jim" Staton and wife Schatzi of Yuba, Oklahoma Sister Mary Chambers Lindsey of Park Hill, Oklahoma Granddaughters Kim Rogers and husband Tracy of Calera, Oklahoma, Kelly Elliott and husband Steven of Durant, Oklahoma, Crystal Collett and husband Jason of Calera, Oklahoma Grandsons David Staton and wife Stephanie of Allen, Texas, Kit Staton and wife Shannon of Frisco, Texas, Kevin Staton of Calera, Oklahoma 6 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Oleta was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Anna Mae Clark, husband Wallace W. Staton and brothers Kenneth and Norman L. "Pete" Clark.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, Holmes~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home 121 N. 5th Durant, Oklahoma. Bro Steven Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Staton, Dwight "Corky" Staton, Ronnie Clark, Rex Clark and Don Staton.
