Anna Jane Staton, 80, of Calera, Oklahoma entered the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Anna was born on June 15, 1943, in Yuba, Oklahoma to parents Andrew Jackson and Idabell (Dillard) Townsend. Anna attended school in Platter through the 8th grade where she was Valedictorian of her class. In 1957, she started school in Calera and graduated in 1961. She married Phillip D. Staton on July 21, 1961, in Yuba, OK and they began their journey together raising their children. Anna was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She deeply loved her family and in her free time she enjoyed gardening and cooking.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at TLC Home Care and Mays Hospice for the loving care they provided for Anna Jane during this time.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Idabell Townsend.
Anna's family left to continue her legacy are her devoted husband of 62 years, Phillip D. Staton of the home; daughter Kim Rogers and husband Tracy of Calera, OK; son David Staton and wife Stephanie of Calera, OK; brother AJ (Buzz) Townsend of Platter, OK; sisters Charlotte Townsend of Platter, OK and Andrea Townsend of Denison, TX; grandchildren Kaitlin Dildine and husband Josh of Bullard, TX, Kirsten Rauner and husband Aaron of Calera, OK, Madison Bowman and husband Trey of Calera, OK, Andrew Staton and wife Kara of Justin, TX, and Matthew Staton of Calera, OK; great grandchildren Briar Rauner and Briggs Bowman and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Anna's amazing life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, OK with Aaron Rauner, Trey Bowman, Josh Dildine, Nick Townsend, Brian Townsend, and Rex Clark serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Staton and Matthew Staton. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://act.alz.org/site/Donation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
