Grace Oleta Solomon was born Friday, July 11, 1913 in Colbert, Oklahoma to Hollan & Myrtle Louetta (McDonald) Singletary. She passed from this life on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 10 months and 8 days.
Grace was known for being an awesome cook. She worked at Burl's Pie Shop in Denison, Texas. Later she worked for her daughter and son -in-law at Wrights Drive In both in the Durant and Denison locations. She was also a cook at the Achille School Cafeteria. Grace married Lester Solomon on October 30, 1927 in Carpenters Bluff, Texas.
Surviving Relatives: son, Larry Solomon and wife Kathryn of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; daughter, Sandra Higgins of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Linda Solomon of Denison, Texas; sister, Pauline Kennedy of Durant, Oklahoma; 10 Grandchildren and Numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death: parents, Hollan and Myrtle Singletary; husband, Lester Solomon on October 30, 1927; son, Billy Solomon; daughter, Laura Myrtle Wright; brothers, Frank, Eugene, Luther and Lacy Singletary; sister, Florence Beaty, Rae Hooper, 5 other infant siblings; step-sister, Mae Gaston; 1 great- granddaughter, Meagan Michell James; and 1 great-grandson, Robert Wayne Wright.
Family Hour will be 6-7 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. Services will be, 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Coffey ~ Murray Chapel, with Bro. Roger Speers officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Pruitt, Tyler Bridges, Clinton Bridges, Brandon Bridges, Carl Snyder, and Mick Wright.
