Ruby V. Robinson was born on Sunday, September 3, 1922 in New Allison, Oklahoma to J.D. “Dude” and Gertrude (Mitchell) Bullard. She passed from this life on Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Durant at the age of 86 years. She was a lifetime resident of the Durant area. Ruby married Bobby Robinson in Durant in 1968.
Ruby was very active in her church. She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist and served on many committees there. She loved people and enjoyed being with them and especially enjoyed helping them. She took great joy in reaching out to the needy. She was a faithful servant at Families Feeding Families. She loved her family, her church family and friends, and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Peggy Penny and Dorothy Shipman.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby of the home; their daughter, Gwen Colpas and husband Gary of Durant; two granddaughters, Sonya Russell and Brandi, also of Durant; two great granddaughters, Brittney Bell and Hailey Siler; great grandson, Ethan Siler; great great grandson, Brody Larkins. Ruby is also survived by a sister, Pauline Pope of Farmington, New Mexico and a sister-in-law, Exie Brown of Sturgis, South Dakota.
Services for Ruby will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 7 at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. The Family Hour will be at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 -8:00 PM Interment will be at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Dwight Robinson, Skip Robinson, Bill Robinson, Jeff Larkins, Michael Siler and Steve Earls.
