Shirley Ann Purser, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved family member, passed from this life on Friday September 22, 2017, at the age of 81 years 6 months and 12 days. She was born on March 10, 1936 in Calera, Oklahoma to Walter and Ruby (Wilson) Robertson.
Shirley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as a private duty LVN in Texas for many years. Shirley was a member of the Eager Home Extension Group in Bryan County; her beautiful flower arrangements were often entered in the Bryan County Fair. She enjoyed; canning, sewing, and was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Purser is survived by her son, Ricky Leon Purser and wife Janette of Harker Heights, Texas; daughter, Leisa Dame of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Eric Purser of Manassas, Virginia, Sara VerHoef and husband Captain Gregg VerHoef, United States Army, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Sierra Shultz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Elisabeth Bench and husband Jacob of Durant, Oklahoma, and Justen Shultz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Preston VerHoef, and Hayden VerHoef of Vine Grove, Kentucky; and four sisters, and 1 brother.
Mrs. Purser was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruby Robertson; two brothers; and former husband, Edward Purser.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 715 West Louisiana Street, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
Family Hour will be from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday September 26th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Church Service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday September 27th at the Calvary Baptist Church, Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, family will be serving as pallbearers.
