Sharia Gayle (Ramey) Nichols, 72, of Achille, OK was called to her heavenly home on February 2, 2021 with her family by her side. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend.
She was born to Doug and Katherine (Swindle) Ramey on July 29, 1948 in Achille, OK. She graduated from Achille High School in 1966, where she was an accomplished basketball player. She continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education. After college she embarked on a 33-year teaching career in Colbert Public Schools. She touched the lives of many students through the years, and they did she same for her.
Sharia married Richard Nichols on January 19, 1973. They had one daughter, Kelli. Her greatest joy in life was her only grandchild, Mallory. She loved attending all of her theatre productions and livestock shows and watching her cheer at football games. She was Mallory’s biggest fan and was a very proud Nana.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Richard, of the home; her daughter Kelli Myracle and husband Craig of Telephone, TX; granddaughter Mallory Myracle of Telephone, TX; sisters Mary Jernigan of Antlers, OK; Marty Little of Denison, TX; Mona Swofford and husband Danny of Coppell, TX; Michelle Fluitt and husband Steve of Farmers Branch, TX; and brother Kyle Stokes and wife Debbie of The Colony, TX, and step-mother Mackie Stokes of Celina, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Katherine Ramey, grandmother (Mama) Willie Ramey who raised her, brother Jerry Ramey, and special aunt Lorene Childers.
