Doug Dollar a resident of Achille, Oklahoma and proud member of the Choctaw Nation passed from this life in Denison, Texas on January 14, 2018 at the age of 77 years 11 months and 5 days. He was born in Albany, Oklahoma on February 9, 1940 to Vernon Henry and Muriel Josephine (Neeley) Dollar. Doug married Mary Alice Robinson (who preceded him in death on March 2, 2013) in Calera, Oklahoma on May 2, 1962.

Doug was a member of the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma. He was an avid bird watcher, and member of the Little Dixie Bass Club. Doug liked to go to the Choctaw Casino which he referred to as his "office". Doug was a Korean War Veteran who served his country from 1960 thru 1962

Mr. Dollar is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Prince of Rattan, Oklahoma and Michelle Williams and husband Brandon of Achille, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shannon Gatlin of Achille, Oklahoma, Christyn Barton and husband Kevin of Achille, Oklahoma, Sheldyn Williams of Achille, Okalhoma, and Braiden Williams of Achille, Oklahoma- great-grandchildren, J.J. Tom of Achille, Oklahoma, Nicholas Tom of Achille, Oklahoma, Madalyn Gatlin of Achille, Oklahoma, and Alex Gatlin of Denison, Texas; sisters, Janice Carter of Lakeway, Texas, Rhoena Bass and husband Sam of Dallas, Texas, Jane Babb of Durant, Oklahoma, and Melba Moore of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Nathan (Butch) Dollar of Calera, Oklahoma, and Larry (Pedro) Dollar of Achille, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Toosie Robinson of Calera, Oklahoma; and brother-in-law, Merwin Robertson and wife Co Etta of Hendrix, Oklahoma.

Mr. Dollar was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Muriel Dollar; brothers, Dwayne Dollar, Bob Dollar, A.V. Dollar, and Tom Dollar; sisters, Judy West, and Maridel Hendrix.

Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Tuesday January 16th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday January 17th at the Kemp Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Speers officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. The pallbearers will be Randy Wooten, Charles Wooten, Kenny Sangster, Glen West, Eugene Dollar, and Allen Massengale. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Staton, Jerry Heflin, James Heflin, Jimmy Sullivan, John Lyons, Matthew Dollar, BJ Moon, and David Dollar.
