Bert Timothy Briedwell, age 81 of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Durant, Oklahoma. Timmy, as he was known to family and friends, was born on May 31, 1943, in Durant, Oklahoma to the late Bert and LaHoma (Dills) Briedwell. Timmy attended high school in Azle, Texas and spent his working years in Azle as a foreman in bridge construction. He was married to Connie Briedwell for many years until her passing. He was a member of the Choctaw Nation; a devoted Christian and he excelled in football during high school. He enjoyed watching and attending football games.
Timmy is preceded in death by his parents Bert and LaHoma Briedwell; wife Connie Briedwell; son Richard Briedwell; brothers William, Ronald, and Ray Briedwell; sister Eliabeth Porter and grandparents Lonnie and Euna Dills.
Timmy is survived by his brother Joe Dwight Briedwell and wife Dorothy of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Patricia Briedwell of Durant, OK; nieces Lesley and Jeannie Porter, Dana, Lisa, Denise, and Teresa Briedwell and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Timmy's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. His cremains will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Silo, Oklahoma. Darryl Williams will officiate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
