Mabell Virginia Connelly Barbee, 95, Plainview, Texas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 26, 2007, at the Prairie House Living Center in Plainview.

She was born May 11, 1912, in Yarnaby and is the daughter of Alfred and Maud Lievsay Connelly.

She was a 1929 graduate of Achille High School and had lived in Achille for most of her life.

She married Robert Luther Barbee June 22, 1930, in Colbert.

She was a licensed vocational nurse and was a graduate of Borger, Texas, class of 1966, and she was an LVN and welder during World War I.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview and had lived there the past 16 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 21, 1978; grandson, Randy Finney on October 9, 1990; sisters, Lois Norman, Marie Mapp and Pauline Holland; brother, Eugene Connelly and her parents.

She is survived by daughters, Paula Finney and husband Jake and Linda McAnelly, all of Plainview; sisters, Camille Coon of Monroe, Washington and Norma Wells of Hendrix; grandchildren, Kimberly Finney Lackey and husband Randy of Edmond, Bracken Finney and wife Cheryl Taylor of Texas and Bilinda McAnelly McCutcheon and husband Willis of Plainview; and great grandchildren, David and John Lackey, Lauren and Kaitlyn Finney and Will and Wes McCutcheon.

A graveside service for Mabell Barbee will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille with the Rev. Roger Speers of the Kemp Baptist Church officiating.

Visitation and family night will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at Cunningham Funeral Home.

The family respectfully requests memorials be made the Rosewood Cemetery Fund, Achille.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
