Kenneth Don Work entered this life on August 30, 1936, in Mead, Oklahoma, born to Charles Samuel and Bessie Smith Work and passed from this life on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at his home at the age of 75 years and 5 days.

Don attended school in Mead and worked as a carpenter and masonry worker.

He married Carolyn Bean on March 19, 1960, in Denison, Texas and they were blessed with two children.

Don attended Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, Texas and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with family especially his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Carolyn Work of the home; children, David Work of Calera and Holly Work Warner and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City; sister, Doris White and husband Buck of Calera; grandchildren, Hannah Work of Calera and Hunter and Ashton Warner of Oklahoma City; sisters in law, Nelda Kay Hickman and husband Kenneth of Calera, Letha Dunn and husband Donald of Calera and Debbie Townsend and husband Chuck of Calera; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bessie Work; brother, Charles Edward Work and his infant sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 10:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Raymond England and Rev. David Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with nephews Jeff Patton, Tim Dunn, Brandon Dunn, Jason Busbey, Danny Toombs, Wayne Phillips and son in law Kevin Warner serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
