Deceased Name: Doris Christine Work White

Doris Christine Work White entered this life on March 30, 1933 at home in Mead born to Charles Samuel and Bessie Mae Smith Work and passed from this life on February 28, 2014 in Colbert at the age of 80.
Doris attended school at Mead and later married Thomas Harold White on December 30, 1960 in Calera and they were blessed with 52 years together until Thomas' death on February 26, 2013.
Doris was a dedicated homemaker and she dearly loved her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas White; parents, Charles and Bessie Work; son, Charles White and his wife Phyllis; brothers, Charles Edward and Kenneth Don Work and an infant sister.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Doris K. Smith and Julie R. Phillips and husband Wayne of Calera; grandchildren, Phillip White, Christine Mason, John Taylor St. Clair, Lacy Edwards, Jessica Jones and Matthew Phillips; seven great grandchildren; sister in law, Carolyn Work of Calera and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate Doris' life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
