Auburn "Bud" Wasson, 84, of Calera passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 in Durant. Bud was born October 4, 1926. in San Diego, California to Joseph William Wasson and Joy Evelyn Mack Wasson.

He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Catholic School from kindergarten until the age of 17.

At 17, he convinced his parents to sign a release for him to join the Navy. He was deployed to the Philippines on a destroyer during World War II where he served proudly.

He married Dorothy Jane Jobe Wasson on July 31, 1957.

He has lived in Calera for the past 50 years.

Bud is preceded in death by his wife, parents and step mom, Edith Ione Wasson and dear friends, Paul Newton and Bones Rodgers.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Wasson of Calera, son, Joseph Wasson of Calera, grandchildren, Joshua Paul Bradley, Asher Auburn Reagan and DeLeani Cashea Reagan and numerous loving family and friends.

Family night is tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Rev. Farrell Hatch officiating.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
