Evelyn Jean (Gordon) Stanfield passed into eternal life on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at her home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Graveside at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma. Pastor Duane Sheriff will officiate.
Jean was born on Monday March 19, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana to James and Dorothy Gordon. Jean attended and graduated from Riley High School in 1963. On June 15, 1963, Jean married the love of her life, Leonard Murrell Stanfield in South Bend, Indiana. They recently celebrated 46 years of marriage. Leonard and Jean moved to Durant five years ago and attend Victory Life Church. She was a homemaker and will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors are her husband of the home ; Leonard Murrell Stanfield; Sons Tommy Stanfield and wife Sharon of Columbia, S.C.; Terry Ray Stanfield and wife Cheryl of Mishawaka, Indiana; and daughter; Lisa Stanfield Snider of Oswego, Illinois and 10 grandchildren: Amber Jean and Josh Stanfield of Columbia, S.C.; Megan and Anna (Stanfield) Hayden of Mishawaka, Indiana; Danielle and Samantha Snider of Oswego, Illinois and Ty Dwyer of Oswego, Illinois; Shannon and Hunter Stanfield of Oklahoma; mother; Dorothy Gordon; Mishawaka, Indiana; and two brothers; Jim Gordon Jr. of South Bend, Indiana and Ray Gordon and wife Sharon of Osceola, Indiana. Loving sister-in-law Darlene Gordon of South Bend Indiana. Special thanks to Victory Hospice and The Texoma Cancer Center.
Jean was preceded in death by her father; James Monroe Gordon in 2001 and her granddaughter; Tiffany Diane Stanfield in 1994. Family hour will be from 6-7 P.M. Tuesday evening at The Coffey~Murray Funeral Home
