Coy Slakey, 98, of Durant, was born on November 8, 1926, to Marcus and Drucilla (Burns) Slakey in Charleston, TX. He passed from this life on October 22, 2025.
He was a farmer, rancher, and was an active member in his church.
He was preceded in death by his wives; Norma (Springer) Slakey of 60 years, and Thelma Myrick. Left to carry on his legacy are his children; Kay Simpson and husband Junior, Rick Slakey and wife Vickie. Grandchildren; Marla Fowler and husband Adam, Eddie Simpson and wife Christina, Stuart Slakey and wife Rami. Four great-grandchildren and four great-great-granddaughters.
A graveside service will be held on October 24, 2025, at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Stephen Biggerstaff officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
