Funeral services for Randy Sharp, 52, of Calera, who passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Calera. Rev. Jacob Toews will officiate.
Randy was a long-time resident of Calera.
Randy was born Tuesday, April 17, 1956, in Sherman, Texas, to Bobby Gene Sharp and Zetty Geraldine Kent.
He married Patsy Dunn on November 7, 1987, in Calera.
He was a member of Calera First Baptist Church.
He graduated from Blue High School.
Randy enjoyed sports, football, baseball and basketball.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Moody and Betty Lou Sharp and Clinton and Bonnie Kent, his parents, brother, Mike Sharp and uncle, Bill Kent.
He is survived by his wife of Calera; sister, Kelly Goldstein of Sherman, Texas; aunts, Phyllis Koons of Irving, Texas, Neomi Morgan and Alita Wilhite, both of Durant; nephews, Michael Sharp of Arlington, Virginia and Justin Goldstein of Sherman, Texas; step-daughter, Melissa Lanten of Cartwright; step-son, Jarred Brown of Silo; granddaughter, Trista Nuñez and numerous family members and friends.
Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera. Pallbearers will be Gary St. Clair, Gerald Sweeten, Elvis Knowles, Royce Hendricks, Rick Wallace and Joe Reid. Honorary pallbearers are Dorothy Dixon, Ricky Phelps, Vernon Russell, George Harrod, Jackie Reagan, Larry Smith, Vernon Farrell, Dwayne Simpson, Jack McGee and Dillard Davis.
Family hour will be today from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at dhfh@communicomm.com.
