Wanda Hope (Glover) Selby went to be with her heavenly father on December 17, 2010. Wanda was born in Banty , Oklahoma on November 7,1923 to Jewel (Jones) and Fred Glover. She married Carl Selby on June 17, 1942.
Wanda is survived by daughter Lawanda Lynn of Durant, Oklahoma, Celesta Justus and husband Cecil of Calera ,Oklahoma, and Son Rick Selby of Calera ,Oklahoma. Sisters, June Moore of Tushka, Oklahoma and Tamera Sanders of Atoka, Oklahoma. Brother, Dell Glover of Avon, Connecticut. Sister-In-Laws, Katherine Glover of Tushka, Oklahoma, Betty Glover Dallas, Texas and Norma Glover of Avon Conn. She is survived by grandchildren, Dylan Eaton of Calera, Oklahoma, Shonna Lindsay of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Heath Justus of Burnet, Texas, Richard Justus of Durant, Oklahoma and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren,
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Jewel Glover, her husband of forty eight years Carl Selby, brothers Ray Glover, Boyd Glover, and John Glover, sister-In-Law, Bonnie Glover, Son-In-Law Hal Lyn, granddaughter, Amber Justus and grand-son-in-law, Jerry Lindsay.
Wanda was a bible scholar who studied her bible daily and began teaching Sunday school classes when her children were young. Wanda taught all levels of Sunday school ending her ministry with the Senior Adults Class. Wanda had a forgiving heart always seeing the positive in every situation. A favorite past time was crocheting. She also enjoyed going to garage sales. Wanda took pleasure in being with her children and grandchildren her entire life. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural route carrier in Arizona and Oklahoma for 10 years.
A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on December 21, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at The Believer’s Church, 303 North 49 street in Durant, Oklahoma. .Officiating will be Rev. H.H. Davis and Dr. Michael Bradley. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Dylan Eaton, Richard Justus, Heath Justus, Jordan Eaton, Brandon Justus, Jon Beller, Erick Cross and Jason Meadows.
Family hour will be Monday 7-8 P.M. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
