Larry Rodkey, a resident of Durant, and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, left this life on Monday July 10, 2017 at the age of 77 years 2 months and 25 days. He was born on April 15, 1940 in Osecola Mills, Pennsylvania to Edward Harold and Edna Betty (Kizer) Rodkey. Larry married Jaynell Kelley in Durant, Oklahoma on September 16, 1978.
Larry was a truck driver by trade. He enjoyed fishing whenever possible.
Mr. Rodkey is survived by his wife, Jaynell Rodkey of the home; sons, Edward Rodkey of Durant, Oklahoma, and Bruce Knipe of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Cynthia Hemesley and husband Bo of Noble, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Colin Rodkey of Noble, Oklahoma, Jason Hemesley of Noble, Oklahoma, Nick Hemesley of Noble, Oklahoma, and Christy Knipe of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Brynn Ritenor of Durant, Oklahoma, Caitlynn Parrott of Durant, Oklahoma, Nolan Parrott of Durant, Oklahoma, Jackson Hemesley of Noble, Oklahoma, Bricen Ingraham of Noble, Oklahoma, and Payton Ingraham of Noble, Oklahoma; sisters, Carolyn Turney, and Dianna Shelly.
Mr. Rodkey was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edna Rodkey; and brother, Lynn Rodkey.
Family Hour will be from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday July 13, 2017 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Chaplin David Kautt officiating.
Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera. Serving as pallbearers will be Bo Hemesley, Bruce Knipe, Edward Rodkey, Jason Hemesley, Nick Hemesley, and Wesley Miller.
