Boe Roberts 86, of Calera, Oklahoma passed away Monday evening, December 20, 2010, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant. He was born July 26, 1924, in Kentucky to Floyd and Mary Preston Roberts.
Boe was a decorated Marine Veteran of World War II.
He was a minister of the Christian Church in Clayton, Oklahoma and Savannah, Tennessee.
He retired from Sears after 40 years of service in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Preston Roberts, a baby brother, Harold Roberts and two sisters, Ella Wease Roberts Price and Peggy Roberts York.
Boe is survived by his wife, Freda Roberts of the home in Calera and children, John and Katie Roberts of Grand Prairie, Texas, David and Sandra Jackson of Calera, Sue and Gary Hanson of Plano, Texas, Desma and Joe Dasta of Round Rock, Texas and Mindy and Kevin Beck of McAlester, Oklahoma; two brothers, Garcie Roberts of Savannah, Tennessee and Winston and Brenda Roberts of Durham, North Carolina; two sisters, Frances and Edward Lawson and Emmajean Adkins all of Savannah, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Boe Roberts will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning December 23, 2010, at the Calera Church of Christ with Minister Travis Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Michael, Jason and Patrick Hanson all of Plano, Carmen Horn, Megan Hicks and Nate Jackson all of Calera, Daniel and Chad Beck of McAlester, Amy Tolliver of Texas and Sarah Grace of Oklahoma.
Family night will be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
