Freda Mae Roberts

Freda "Granny" Mae (Allar) Jackson Roberts, age 95, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was born in Belmont, Ohio. She was the daughter of Floyd Alfred Allar and Edith (McEndree) Allar. She was the oldest of 10 children. She married Earl Junior Jackson in 1948 and had three children, Sue, Dave, and Mindy. They were happily married for 25 years until his death in 1974. In 1977, she married Boe Roberts and lived happily until his death in 2010.

Freda started school at the age of four and graduated at age 16. She earned an associate degree in accounting. Most of her life was spent in Ohio, surrounded by her family. Granny was a member of the Christian Church and helped with many aspects of church committees during her husband, Boe's ministry post. She enjoyed playing the piano during the services in Clayton, Oklahoma. She also drove school buses when they needed help. She was a multitalented person. She could build things with a drill and cook like a dream.

Granny had a great love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was always happiest with them and spoiled them rotten. She loved books, music, and all kinds of crafts. Many in her family have been gifted with her beautiful quilts.

Granny is preceded in death by her parents Floyd Allar and Edith (McEndree) Allar, and her husbands Earl Jackson and Boe Roberts. Her brothers Junior Allar, Glen Allar, and Dave Allar. Her sisters, Rachel Palmer, and Eileen Greenwood. Her son-in-law Gary Hanson. As well as her dog Dixie.

Freda is survived by her children Sue Hanson of Plano, Texas; Dave Jackson (Sandra) of Mead; Mindy Beck (Kevin) of McAlester. Grandchildren Michael Hanson (Bridgett), Carmen Horn (Paul), Megan Kelley, Jason Hanson (Andrea), Daniel Beck (Tracy), Patrick Hanson (Janie), Chad Beck, Nate Jackson (Angie), 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Her siblings are Sam Allar of Ohio, Faith Morris of Ohio, and Judy Allar of Arizona.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, June 26th at 10:00 AM at Brown's Funeral Service in Durant with Graveside services to proceed at Rosehill Cemetery, in Calera Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Hanson, Patrick Hanson, Jason Hanson, Daniel Beck, Nate Jackson, and Carmen Horn. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Beck and Megan Kelley Services directed by Brown's Funeral Services of Durant. Online condolences can be made at www.brownsfuneralservice.com
