Funeral services for Shirley Bledsoe Neal, 54, of Durant, who died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, in Durant, are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera.
Shirley was born to Stanley and Rosa Lee Lashbrook Bledsoe Sunday, October 24, 1954, in Dallas, Texas.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Grace Indian Baptist Church.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, going fishing and just being outdoors. She loved to help build people's self esteem. She loved all her family and friends and enjoyed helping them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Abby McCarty.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Auldridge and wife Melessa and Freddy F. McCarty, all of Durant; sister, Barbara Ann Bledsoe of Caddo; brothers, Freddy McCarty of Cartwright and Jim Thomas of Kenefic; grandsons, Corey Staples of Durant, Ryan Auldridge of Bennington, Caleb McCarty and Spencer McCarty, both of Brennem, Texas, and Blake Dean Auldridge of Durant; granddaughters, Hailey McCarty of Brennem, Texas, Celesta Auldridge of Atoka and Zoe McCarty of Durant; half-sisters, Elly Bledsoe of Durant, Clara Ann Jamison of Clayton and Emily George of Caddo and daughter, Geannie Cooper of Durant.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
