Heather Kuhns passed from this life peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Calera, Oklahoma. She was brought into this world on December 16, 1977, in Sherman, Texas by Robert Clifton Clay and Karen Nan (Daily) Clay.
Heather attended and graduated from Calera Public School and went on to receive an associates degree. She attended Murray State College as well as Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She married her love, Jimmy Lee Kuhns on December 10, 2022, at Calera First Baptist Church. Heather was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed making jewelry and crafting any chance she got. She also enjoyed cooking good meals and staying busy in general. Heather was a lover of children and worked in the childcare industry. She was a proud mother and enjoyed the time she spent with the people she loved.
Heather is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Robert F. Clay and Lavelle Clay (McLarry), Doyle and Elizabeth Maxey (Burkhalter), brother, Aaron Clay, Uncle, Tedwin Maxey, Uncle, Larry Clay, Uncle, Tommy Reynolds and Aunt Cathey Reynolds, and Father-in-law, Stephen Kuhns.
Heather is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee Kuhns of Sherman, TX; Parents, Robert and Karen Clay of McAlester, OK; Son; Caleb Clay Ellevold of Calera, OK; Step-daughter; Kaylie Anderson of Denison, TX; Step-sons; Anthony Whitaker of Cartwright, OK; Justin Whitaker of Denison, TX; Mothers -in-law; Penny and Jolene Kirchofer of Denison, TX; Sisters-in-law; Kim Kirchofer of Pottsboro, TX; Waverly Kuhns of Denison, TX; Brother-in-law; Jason Kuhns of Denison, TX; Sister-in-law; Kylie Clay of Celina, TX; Nephew; Easton Clay of Celina, TX; Niece; Bella Clay of Celina, TX; and numerous extended family and friends.
Services for Heather will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Calera First Baptist Church with Pastor Jacob Toews officiating.
Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, OK, with Easton Clay, Landon Jestis, Lynn Jestis, Colby Maxey, Zach Maxey, and Kristen Maxey serving as pallbearers.
Services are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
