Jolene Wagoner Knipe

Jolene Wagoner Knipe, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and cherished family member, entered her rest on Tuesday August 28th, 2018 at the age of 80. She was born in Durant to Julius James and Fleeda Mae (Newkirk) Wagoner on December 14th, 1937. Jolene married Jimmy Hoglan on January 4th, 1954, he preceded her in death, later she married Bill (Willie) Knipe in Dallas, Texas on June 7th, 1974.

Jolene was a member of the Southside Church of Jesus Christ, and Order of the Eastern Star (OES Chapter 17). She enjoyed being outside fishing and camping and singing and dancing. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and looked forward to any time they spent together.

Mrs. Knipe is survived by her children, Patsey Burns of Durant, Oklahoma. Peggy Ervin and husband Kenneth of Mead, Oklahoma, Sheila Roland and husband Mike of Durant, Oklahoma, Sharon and Joseph Matheny of Lexington, Oklahoma, Deanna Craig and husband Jeff of Vandervoot, Arkansas, Brandy McCarter and husband Bart of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Cynthia Hemesley and husband Bo of Noble, Oklahoma, Bruce Knipe of Mead, Oklahoma, and Donna Whitelaw of New Orleans, Louisiana; 33 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Nell and Buddy Manners of Calera, Oklahoma and James and Betty Wagoner of Calera, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mrs. Knipe was preceded in death by her parents, Jude and Mae Wagoner; siblings, (Chubby) Julius Jerrell Wagoner and Herman Tip Wagoner; sons, Richard Wayne Hoglan and son-in-law, George Burns; grandchildren, Christopher Allen, Shalla Mowles, and Angel May; nephew, Gerald Wagoner; spouses, Jimmy Hoglan and Bill (Willie) Knipe; and longtime friend, John Lightfoot.

Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Friday August 31st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday September 1st at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera with Scotty Allen, Darrid Mowles, Tyler Farrington, Tanner Farrington, Donnie McCarter, Jeremy Rodgers, Michael Rodgers, Raymond Rodgers, as pallbearers, and Kendall Ervin, Chris Roland, Christopher Matheny, and Cody Matheny as honorary pallbearers.
