Jake Kimbrough a resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years 4 months and 24 days. He was born in Cobb, Oklahoma to Samuel "Big Dad", and Gertrude (Henninger) Kimbrough. Jake married LaNell Carr in Durant, Oklahoma on April 1, 2000.
Jake was employed by AT&T as a Systems Engineer. He loved; camping, working in the yard, mowing, gardening, watching Fox news, old cars, going to the races, and watching his kids play baseball. Jake loved his family, and his grandchildren.
Mr. Kimbrough is survived by his wife, LaNell Kimbrough of the home; sons, Dennis Kimbrough and wife Pat of Knoxville, Tennessee, Greg Kimbrough and wife Bonnie of Atlanta, Georgia, Brian Kimbrough and wife Kitty of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jake Ralph Kimbrough, Jr. and wife Sandy of Houston, Texas; step-children, Sherry Blancher and husband Scott of Robert, Louisiana, Bill Riggan and wife Sandy of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Larry Riggan and wife Loya of Vancouver, Washington; his special dog, Josie; and 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kimbrough was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Gertrude Kimbrough; 1st wife, Pat Kimbrough; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Family hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Monday, June 12th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday June 13th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Pastor Mark McGhee officiating. Pallbearers will be Nate Kimbrough, Damon Schware, Dennis Kimbrough, Greg Kimbrough, Brian Kimbrough and Jake Kimbrough, Jr.Burial will immediately follow at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera. Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home.
