Dillon Lee Jones passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 in Denison, Texas at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 21 days. Dillon was born on August 19, 1926 in Calera, Oklahoma to Paul Dillon and Rosa Lee Guess Jones.
Dillon attended school to the ninth grade then went to work on the family farm.
On May 9, 1945, Dillon entered the United States Army and was deployed to Japan on October 25, 1945 serving in World War II. Dillon was honorably discharged on December 23, 1946 and later worked for Bell Helicopter and Boeing Aircraft as a sheet metal mechanic until his retirement.
He was a member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ, American Legion and he enjoyed fishing, dancing at the Sherman Senior Citizens and playing dominoes at the Broughton Senior Citizens where he was Senior of the Month in December.
Dillon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Odus Jones and three infant sisters.
Dillon is survived by his children, Ronald Lee Jones and Norma Risinger of Sherman, Texas, Rose Herren and husband Odis of Calera, Oklahoma and Kimberly Newton and husband Gary of Arlington, Texas; sister, Louise Dovie Adams of Vermont; grandchildren, Laryn Hundley, Kristie Marble, Sheila Rucker, Brian Herren, Aaron Wies and wife Christina, Shelby Denton and husband Richard and Taylor Newton; great grandchildren, Derek Pickens, Corey Rucker, Cobey Rucker, Skylar Jones, Codey Beals and Tristen Herren; great great grandchild, Cohen Rucker; mother of his children, Johnnie Peters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends at the Sherman and Broughton Senior Citizens.
The family wants to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Nursing Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for the care given to Dillon and his family.
A celebration of Dillon's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Rose Hill Cemetery Pavilion. Todd Cheteau will officiate.

A luncheon will be held after the service at the First Baptist Church in Calera.
