Graveside services for Betty A. Driver Jones, 73, of Calera, who passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008, in Denison, Texas, will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera. Rev. Jacob Toews will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Betty was born October 12, 1934, in Arp, Texas, to George and Adra Ethel Scalf Driver.

She attended various schools in northeast Texas and later married Odus Ray Jones on August 29, 1959, while he was stationed at the Navy Reserve Base in Dallas, Texas. They lived at Midway Island in Clula Vista, California, Lafayette, Indiana, Lakewood, California and Escondido, California, while her husband was in the Navy.

Betty worked as a waitress part time and when the family moved to Calera, she was employed as a custodian at the Calera schools. After retiring, she delivered meals to the homebound for many years for the Calera Nutrition Center.

She was of the Protestant faith and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene, Leroy and Rufus Driver and sister, Ester Driver.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Odus Ray Jones of the home; daughters, Jinx McCarley and Nancy Metcalf, both of Calera; brother, James Driver and wife Nancy of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Lindee Davis and husband Cody of Platter, Dustin Metcalf of Calera, Brittni Wright and husband Harland of Oceanside, California and Ali Townsend and husband Cody of Calera; great-grandchildren, Nikki and Dakoda Metcalf of Colbert, Kinzee, Ty and Seth Davis of Platter and Avy Sophia Wright of Oceanside, California, brother-in-law, Dillon Jones and wife Edna of Denison, Texas; sister-in-law, Dovie Adams of South Burlington, Vermont and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera.
