Services for Gabriel Mark "Gabe" Jacob, 39, of Durant, who passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Sherman, Texas, will be held Wednesday, April 9, 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Durant. Rev. James Robinson and Rev. Lester Timms will officiate.

Gabe was born November 25, 1968, in Talihina, Oklahoma to Daniel and Emmaline Roberts Jacob.

He attended and graduated from Tushka High School and he then continued his education at the Vo-Tech Center.

He went to work for the Choctaw Nation driving a bus then was promoted to transportation supervisor.

He married Karen Jackson October 11, 1997, in Durant and to this union was born one son, Sam.

He spent his entire life in Atoka and Bryan counties.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durant and he enjoyed reading the Bible, and spending time with his family and friends. Gabe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gabe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Jacob.

Gabe is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Karen Jacob of the home; son and the light of his life, Sam of the home; sister, Delores Kay Jacob; sister, Francille Quaid and husband Scott; sister, Anna Ainsworth and husband Randy; brother, David Jacob and wife, Susan all of Tushka, Oklahoma; sister, Linda Jacob of Atoka, Oklahoma, brother, Jim Jacob and wife Paulette of Kingston, Oklahoma, sister, Cheryl Huffman of Missouri; sisters in law, Susan Cockrill and husband Chris of Bells, Texas, Pat Shelton and husband Buddy of Poteau, Oklahoma, Maggie Jackson of San Antonio, Texas and Jane Mozier of Odenton, Maryland; father and mother in law, Don and Peggy Jackson of Ingram, Texas; and numerous other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera with Raymond Loyd Fails, Randy Sloan Hamilton, Steve Edwin Howell, David Lee Manning, Johney W. Parham, Allen Smith, Terry G. Hardin, and Stacey Noel Pair serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene E. Hampton, Ralph E. Riley, Chad Bruce Ensey, Justin R. House, Tommie C. Mullins and Brian E. Silver.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 8, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
