Calera, OK- Henry Lynn Jackson was born Wednesday, October 23rd, 1946 at Prosper, Texas to Henry Lee Jackson and Neva Viola (Mace) Jackson. Lynn entered in the presence of our Lord on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 from his home at the age of 75.
Lynn was raised and graduated from Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas. Lynn married his sweetheart, Rilda Vest, on October 4th, 1966 in Sherman, Texas. Lynn served in the United States Army 35th Battalion Engineers. He is a Vietnam veteran and was very proud of his service and sacrifice for our country. Lynn worked as a truck driver and worked his way up as a salesman for a freight company for many years. He then owned and managed a café in Calera for several years as he catered many gatherings and events in the area. His last employment was at Kiamichi Technology Center in Durant working with the maintenance department.
Lynn had a passion for cooking and countless hours fishing at the lake or ponds. He loved being with his family and spending quality time with all of them. Lynn and Rilda are members of the Calera Church of Christ.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Darrell Jackson, Ronnie Jackson and Johnny Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rilda, of the home; sons, Shannon Jackson and his wife, Marci, of Silo, OK, and Shane Jackson and his wife, Mary Anne, of Calera, OK; daughter, Ginger Morgan and her husband, Mark, of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Elaina and Tucker Jackson, Joe Paul Jackson, Haley, Justin, and Faith Morgan; sister, Sue Carter of Celina, TX; brother, Ted Jackson of Flower Mound, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews and other close family members.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26th, from 3-5 PM at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 27th, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating. Committal services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery pavilion with Jim Fryer, Charlie Smith, Bobby Harvey, Ronnie Fryer, Windell Stow and Kevin Townsend serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Junior Doughty and Walter Smith.
