Norman Dean Hill, 74, of Calera passed away on Saturday, March 8 at his home. Dean was born on August 5, 1939 in Calera to Wilburn D. and Lela Gertrude Havniear Hill.
He graduated from Calera High School and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Dean married Joyce Braden on August 8, 1972 in Bessemer, Alabama.
He worked as a purchasing agent, maintenance engineer and raising cows.
He attended Calera First Baptist Church.
Dean liked reading, fishing and taking care of his cows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Gertrude Mullins, two brothers, Gene and James Hill and one sister, Dereatha "Tootsie" Hill.
Dean is survived by his wife, Joyce Hill of the home, son, Jeff Hill and wife Susan of Mapearl, Texas, stepson, Lance Crain of Plano, Texas, two sisters Geraldine O'Dell of Durant and Wilma Laughlin of Hanford, California and two grandchildren, Kayla and Taylor Hill and numerous other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bro. Jacob Toews officiating.
