A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 29 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera for Beatrice "Bea" Rodgers Hammond, 83, Durant, who died Friday, March 26, 2010, at King's Daughters & Sons Nursing Home in Durant.

Darrell Edwards will officiate.

The daughter of James Henry and Goldie Wilma Thornhill Rodgers, she was born Wednesday, December 1, 1926, in Pleasant Hill.

Beatrice, also known as "Bea," enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She married Ted Hammond on December1, 1945, in Sherman, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, infant daughter, Shelia Hammond, grandson, Terry Hammond, sister, Berdie Grider and brothers, Tom Rodgers and Chub Rodgers.

Survivors include sons, Jim and wife Carolyn, and John and wife Betty, all of Durant; grandsons, Kerry and wife Dena, and Kevin and wife Mandy, all of Durant, Jimmy and wife Staci and Mike and wife Elaine, all of Calera, Joe and wife Dodie of Muskogee, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kerry Hammond, Kevin Hammond, Jimmy Hammond, Mike Hammond, Joe Hammond and Jonathon Hammond will serve as pallbearers.

Family hour is from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
