James Wade (Jim) Gordon

James Wade Gordon was born on October 17, 1949 in San Francisco, CA to William Preston and Margaret Josephine (Smith) Gordon. Jim passed from this life on October 12, 2020 in Denison, TX at the age of 70.

Jim graduated from Calera High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University with his bachelor’s degree. He married Jill Remshardt on January 22, 1972 in Durant and they began their journey together. Jim served as a Postal Inspector for 11 and half years then assistant Postmaster until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Jim had a great love for family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by is parents William and Margaret Gordon and sister Paula Gordon.

Jim is survived by his wife Jill Gordon of the home; sons Kevin Gordon and wife Misty of Durant, OK Steven Gordon and wife Ramona of Sherman, TX and Brent Berry and wife Omalee of Arlington, TX; brother Billy Gordon and wife Delie Bokchito, OK; sisters Linda Clay of Calera, OK, Marsha McCain and husband Garry of Duncan, OK and Gayla Guillory of Durant, OK; grandchildren Madison Gordon, Audrey Gordon, Austin Gordon, Brooke Gordon, Amelia Gordon and Burke Berry; great grandchildren Penelope and Isabella Berry and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church. Rev. Jerry Peterson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery with Jeff Remshardt, Jeremy Remshardt, Jeff Shattuck, Chris Ribera, Darren Wallace and Alejo Benito serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
