Services for Wilburn A. Glenn (80) will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 2, 2010 Fairview Baptist Durant, Oklahoma The Reverends Kim McGehee and Allen Pate will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Proffer, Don Weaver, James Thrasher, Jeff Thrasher Ronnie Bowman and Stanley Goolsby. Internment will follow at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma.
Wilburn Ardell Glenn was born on Friday, June 28, 1929 in Courtney Flats, Oklahoma to Earl R. and Lillie Violet (Blankenship) Glenn. He passed from this life on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in Denison, Texas at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 2 days. Wilburn married Margie McGehee on June 5, 1951 in Calera, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Bushnell Baptist Church. Wilburn loved Bluegrass and Gospel music and playing his fiddle in several bands in the area. Mr. Glenn greatest passion in life was cheering people up. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife Margie Glenn of the Calera home, his Daughter: Delie Gordon and husband, Billy of Bokchito, Oklahoma Son Stephen Glenn and wife, Kathy of Calera, Oklahoma, Grandchildren Melanie McClure of Durant, Oklahoma, Ryan Gearhart and wife, Lindsay of Highlands, North Carolina, LaDonna Gordon of Terrell, Texas and Melissa Gordon of Dallas, Texas, 8 Great Grandchildren, Brother Bill Glenn and wife, Dorothy of Calera, Oklahoma, Sisters Virginia Slaten of Calera, Oklahoma, Lura Peoples of Silo, Oklahoma, Eva Lee Hider of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sisters-in-law Willie Pennick of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Dessie Luke of Calera, Oklahoma, Lenora Bills of Bentonville, Arkansas, Mary Ann Lloyd & husband Cliff of Mesquite, Texas, Martha Goza & husband Glenn of Calera, Oklahoma, Janie Pate & husband Wayne of Calera, Oklahoma, Judy Yarbrough & husband Robbie of Mansfield, Louisiana, brothers-In-Law Roy McGehee & wife Judy of Silo, Oklahoma, Troy McGehee & wife Elaine of Calera, Oklahoma, Longtime Friend Joe Slaten of Riverside, California Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Glenn was preceded in death by his Parents, Earl and Lillie Glenn; Brother, Robert Earl Glenn; Brothers-in-law, Earl Slaten, Arvel Peoples and O.J. Hider
