Billy Elrod a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and resident of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, passed into the arms of his Savior in Ardmore, Oklahoma on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the age of 78 years 9 months and 4 days. He was born on August 6, 1938 to Francis Marion and Anna Lou (Aven) Elrod. Billy married Frances Louise Robinson in Anna, Texas on December 7, 1964.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a tool and die maker, and a machinist by trade. Billy was a member of the Calera Baptist Church.
Mr. Elrod is survived by his wife, Frances of the home; daughters, Anna Marie Noe of Conroe, Texas, Tammy Elaine Watt of Pottsboro, Texas, and Jacqueline Francis Jones of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; son, Christian Paul Elrod of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Chad Hodge of Anna, Texas, Kyle Hodge of Pottsboro, Texas, Zachary Noe of DeRidder, Louisiana, Adam Elrod of Lexington, Kentucky, Beth Jones of Lone Grove, Oklahoma and Evie Jones of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, Benny Elrod of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Anna Lou Elrod; and granddaughter, Candice Dawn Felts.
Family Hour will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma on Friday, May 12, 2017. A church service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Calera Baptist Church with Jacob Toews officiating.
Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Hodge, Matthew Satterfield, Monty Jones, Stacy Hodge and the honorary pallbearers are Kyle Hodge and Zachary Noe.
