Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, for Pearl Marie Daniel Doraty, 82, of Durant, who died Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Father Valerian Gonsalves will officiate.
She was born Sunday, July 25, 1926, in Mead to Almond A. Daniel and Myrtle Baggett.
Pearl worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward and Combined Oil beginning in the early 60s. She was a member and sponsor of the American Legion Baseball and the past president of this organization from 1968-1970. Pearl also worked as a girl's state advisor.
She married Robert Doraty in October 1991 at Hugo.
They worked together as host at Lake Texoma Parks for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Junior Daniel and Jack Daniel and nephews, Nathan Daniel and David Daniel.
Survivors include son, James Erdmann of the Durant home, step-son, Robert Geer of Rosenburg, brothers, Slick Daniel of Mead and James Daniel of Burelson, Texas, sisters, Billie Trout of Burleson, Texas, and Betty McKinney of Dry Prong, Lousiana, ten nephews and four nieces.
Serving as pallbearers will be A. G. Alexander, Trey Daniel, Curtis Daniel, Rod McClaren, David Coxsey and Charles Bailey.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera.
Family hour will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
