Funeral services for Arthur Newton Clinton will be held on Thursday, April 14, 10:00 a.m. at Mead Baptist Church. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera with Raymond Dawson, Royce Dawson, Steve McCray, Steve Dawson, Jeff Dawson, Carl Dawson, Robert Dawson, Randy Dawson and Wade Dawson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Arthur was born on April 11, 1928 in Thornsberry, Texas to Claud Newton and Rosa Lee Horn Clinton and passed from this life on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Medical Center of SE OK at the age of 83.
Arthur married Athena Louise Dawson on June 2, 1954 in Commerce, Texas and he worked as a structural ironworker inspecting towers. They moved to Bryan County in 1971 from Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was a member of the Colbert Masonic Lodge #8 and the Order of the Eastern Star Colbert Chapter 352. He enjoyed cutting firewood, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
Arthur is survived by his sons, Mark Clinton and wife Leicia of Calera and Kelly Clinton and wife Regina of Durant; grandchildren, Alethea Stilwell, Davina Mason, April Dawn Clinton and Paige Alexis Clinton; great grandchildren, Jimmy Dale Stilwell, Jayson Alexander Stilwell, Koby Aric Mason and Jakob Marlee Stilwell; in-laws, Joyce Clinton, Darrell Dawson, Wyvette Wiley and Dale Dawson and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Rosa Lee Clinton; wife, Athena Louise Clinton; brothers, Lawrence Clinton, R. C. "Pete" Clinton and Johnny Clinton and sister, Joyce Matthews.
