Robert "Craig" Chastain, 42 of Farmington, Arkansas died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at his home.
He was born October 7, 1966, in McAlester, Oklahoma to R. C. and Jewell Gardner Chastain.
Mr. Chastain graduated from Calera High School, in Calera, Oklahoma and then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State College.
He served in the Navy during Desert Storm aboard a battleship, as a mine sweeper, and as a Shore Patrolman.
Mr. Chastain joined the Springdale Police Department over 11 years ago obtaining the rank of Corporal. He was also an instructor at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy teaching accident investigation and reconstruction.
He was a marathon runner, enjoyed collecting vintage comic books and memorabilia, and spending time with his dog, Casey.
He married Karis Lachelle Quiett on May 12, 2007, in Sonora, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife, Karis Chastain of the home; two sons, Luke and Phillip Rhoades, also of the home; parents, R.C. and Jewell Chastain of Colbert, Oklahoma, a sister, Donna Briggs and husband Norman of Cartwright, Oklahoma, nephews, Jeff Briggs and wife Tiffany, Scott Briggs and wife India and a niece, Angie Briggs.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale.
A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Har-Ber High School Performing Arts Center in Springdale with Rev. Gary Dunahoo officiating.
Interment will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma with Brother Dwayne Spradlin and Brother Quinton Gage officiating.
Bearers and Honor Guard will be officers of the Springdale Police Department.
