Roy Kenneth Chandler was born Saturday, February 13, 1937 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Roy Thomas Chandler and Anice Corene (Draper) Chandler. Kenneth passed from this life on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Denison, Texas at the age of 87.
Kenneth was raised and attended school in Boswell. He married Amelia Frances Bacon on August 25, 1957 in Boswell. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2017. Kenneth worked as a welder most of his life, retiring from Reedrill in Denison with over 30 years of service to the company.
Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors and tending to his garden. He always attended auctions looking for a good deal and was always on the lookout for antique farm equipment. Kenneth enjoyed going to all his grandkids ballgames and all their endeavors as well as being a regular at the Choctaw Nation Community Center. He was a believer in Jesus Christ.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Kendra Pate and her husband Kenneth of Calera, Karen Thomas and her husband Rig of Calera, and Kim Teague and her husband Terry of Aubrey, TX; brother, James Chandler and his wife Dorothy of Clovis, CA; sister, Barbara Bryant and husband Tommy of Durant; brother, Larry Chandler and wife Nancy of Madera, CA; grandkids Kacie Welch (Joey) of Calera, Kristin Boehme (Philip) of Durant, Jamie Tilley (Seth) of Melissa, TX, Chandler Teague of Aubrey, TX, Casey Martin of Kingston, and Bobbi Weeks (Lance) of Kingston; 11 great-grandkids; and other extended family members and good friends.
Services for Kenneth will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, at Rose Hill Cemetery pavilion with Bro. Dale Ballard officiating.
Kenneth's family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 17, from 6-8 PM at Brown's Funeral Home in Durant.
