Joe D. Brown was born on November 20, 1935 in Madill, Oklahoma to Joe Bailey and Grace Ethel Coble Brown and passed away on February 25, 2016 in Denison, Texas at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 5 days.

Joe attended and graduated from Caddo Public Schools and later served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962 until his Honorable Discharge.

He worked as a machinist until his retirement.

He was a member of the Durant Elks Lodge and in his younger days he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He enjoyed spending time with family and catching up with friends at the coffee shop.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe is survived by his brother, Sammy Brown and wife Linda of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters, Mona Perry of DeKalb, Texas and Barbara Young and husband Larry of Calera, Oklahoma; nephews, Mike Perry and wife Jennifer of DeKalb, Texas, Steve Young and wife Kim of Colbert, Oklahoma, Alan Brown and wife Julie of Calera, Oklahoma and Randy Self and wife Shelly of Calera, Oklahoma and extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera. Pastor Don Hyde Jr. will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Mike Perry, Steve Young, Alan Brown and Randy Self. There is no formal visitation but the funeral home will be open on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for viewing.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service, Durant.
