Judy Ann (Ramos) Barkley was born on December 21, 1951, in Durant, Oklahoma to parents Henry and Mary Ruth (Walker) Ramos. Judy passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Denison, Texas at the age of 72. Judy attended school in Durant and worked at KC Waffle House in Durant in her younger years. Later she worked for the Bryan County Election Board and was a Notary Public. On January 3, 1970, she married the love of her life, Ronald Barkley Sr. They began their life together in Calera raising their three children. They were united in marriage for 35 years before Ronald's passing in 2005. Judy attended church at First Baptist Church in Calera and was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family and a beloved friend to many.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Barkley Sr.; parents Henry and Mary Ruth Ramos and granddaughter Ciara Paige Hobbs.
Judy is survived by her children Ladonna Hobbs of Calera, OK, Ronnie Barkley and wife Vicki of Calera, OK, and Patrick Barkley and wife Kristen of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Preston Barkley and wife Anna, Parker Barkley, Henry Alexander "Alex" Barkley, Eli Gallardo, Sienna Dulin, Liliana Escalante, and Asael Escalante; great grandchild Waylen Leroy Barkley; sister Vickie Anderson; special person Nancy Sims and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Judy's life will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Calera, OK. Rev. Jacob Toews will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery with Preston Barkley, Parker Barkley, Eli Gallardo, Asael Escalante, Alan Hobbs, and John Dulin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Alexander "Alex" Barkley, Jimmy Barkley and Kevin McDaniel. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to Shriners Hospital's for Children https://lovetotherescue.org/ in memory of Ciara Paige Hobbs.
