A service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Blue Baptist Church, 70 and Berry Street, Durant, for James Lee Hill, 72, Durant, who died Friday, March, 5, 2010, in Durant.

The son of Dalphus Rose and Myrtle Alma Summers Hill, he was born February 4, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jim loved playing with his grandkids and just being with his family.

He served in the military from June 12, 1956, to March 28, 1968. He was in the Air Force and Army Reserve. The Patriot Honor Guard will escort the funeral procession from the church to the cemetery, and there will be graveside honors.

Hill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, DAV, VFW, Vietnam Veterans and the Blue Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hill of the home; daughter and sons-in-law, Vicki Sutton, Durant, Annette Cook and husband Marty, Kenefic, and Kristen Fox and husband Jeremy, Blue; grandchildren, Ryan Cook, Brandon Fox, Tiffany Cook and Kelsie Cook, all of Kenefic, Katie Fox and Kylie Fox, both of Blue, and many other relatives and friends.

Burial will be at Old Philadelphia Cemetery with Mike Oden, Eric Loftis, Tommy Hearon, Lance Luke, Donnie Portman, Kenny Erwin, Jeremy Rowland and Kenny Potter serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Al Brady, John Andrew, Bill Tolbert, Norman Gooding, Oscar Stokes, Odel Headrick, Billy Bob Brown and Jimmy Brown.

Family hour is from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
