George Wellington Rose a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 75 years 7 months and 15 days. He was born in Blue, Oklahoma on Thursday, August 19, 1937 to Louis Alfred and Clara Beatrice (Davison) Rose. George married Florene Murray in Blue, Oklahoma May 31, 1958.George loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the University Freewill Baptist Church in Durant. He served in the United States Army as a member of the Military Police. He love to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He truly enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with other family and friends.
Mr. Rose is survived by his daughters, Jenny Meade and husband Terry of Durant, Oklahoma and Lynda Knight and husband Jayson of Woodard, Oklahoma; sisters, Josie Cowan and husband Leroy of Mesquite, Texas and Alvis Beshires of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren Mariah Madewell, Geordie Madewell, Troy Meade, Khalia Duncan, Suzette Manners and Nikki Crouch; sister-in-law Shirley Wilkins of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers-in-laws, Wayne Murray of Durant, Oklahoma and Billy Melton of Cartwright, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Alfred and Clara Beatrice Rose; wife, Florene Rose; brothers, Preston and Irlan Rose; sister Lorene Wynigear and half sister Aline Clark.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma with Bro. Raymond Coats officiating.
