Sharon Neasbitt of Calera, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023. Born on February 5, 1953, Sharon was a beacon of kindness, gentleness, and love to all who knew her.
Sharon worked for a time at American Meat Packers, later dedicating her professional life to the service of others. She worked diligently as a medical technician and nurse's aide at Kings Daughters & Sons Nursing Home and other facilities in the area. Her gentle touch and compassionate nature brought comfort to countless patients throughout her career.
In her personal life, Sharon was a devoted homemaker, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for reading, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. Additionally, she was a skilled crocheter, creating beautiful, intricate pieces that were treasured by her loved ones.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, DeWayne Russell of Calera, Oklahoma. Her legacy lives on in her children, Geoffrey Russell and wife Kimberly of Calera, Oklahoma, Erin Torres of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and Richard Walton also of Oklahoma. She was a proud grandmother to Connor Foreman, Ciara Foreman, Haydin Russell, Kyle Ortega, Caitlyn Ortega, Jasmin Mendina, and Tehya Mendina. She is also survived by her niece, Katrina Pickens, along with several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Sims and Grace Elaine (Robinson) Neasbitt, her brother Raleigh Neasbitt, her sister and a brother who passed in infancy, and her niece Amanda Neasbitt. Sharon's memory will forever be cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Haydin Russell, Kyle Ortega, Michael Neasbitt, and Alex Neasbitt.
