Herman Doughty

Herman Doughty passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Alliance Health Madill at the age of 82 years old. He was born on January 29, 1941 in Gladewater, Texas to John Henry and Clara Mae (Barnes) Doughty. He was married to Mary Hudson on April 21, 1972 in Park Springs, Texas, until her passing in 2003.

Herman was a retired auto mechanic. He was fun loving and enjoyed singing karaoke and playing bingo. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Darla Doughty of Cordell, Oklahoma, Peggy Johnson of Mead, Oklahoma, Judy Crunk of Chico, Texas, and Sharon Blaylock of Alvarado, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brenda Wilson of Durant, Oklahoma, Brandon Johnson of Durant, Oklahoma, Meagen Graham of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Mason Graham of Mead, Oklahoma, as well as many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.

Preceding him in death are his parents John and Clara Doughty, his wife Mary Doughty, daughter Paula Clark, son Ricky Daugherty, and brothers Stewart Dean Doughty and Donald McCarty.

Family Hour is set for Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., August 21, 2023 in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel. Herman will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery following his funeral service.

Those serving as pallbearers are Justin Wilson, Brandon Johnson, Mason Graham, David Crunk, Michael Sampson, and Michael Magar.
