Lucille V. Jackson Brimage

Lucille V. Brimage, a long time resident of Durant, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the age of 92 years 10 months and 10 days. She was born on Sunday, July 27, 1919 to Cal and Mary Ellen (Owens) Jackson in Caddo, Oklahoma. Lucille Jackson married the love of her life George Brimage in Caddo, Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 1, 1936.

Lucille was a proud charter member of the Bryan County Heritage Association and collected 50 years of Genealogy. She owned and operated The Beauty Box on Main Street for 20 years. Lucille worked as a volunteer at the Bryan Genealogical Library until the age of 90 years. But most of all, Lucille loved and cherished her family.

Mrs. Brimage is survived by her sons, Patrick E. Brimage of Elk City, Oklahoma and Donald R. Brimage and wife Ann of Durant, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Kimberly Lorance of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons, Brownie L. Brimage and wife Ronel of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kevin Brimage and wife Janice of Elk City, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Michelle Mercer and husband Don of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandson, John Brimage and wife Amanda of Hinton, Oklahoma; brother, Otis Ray Jackson and wife Pat of Wayne, Oklahoma; 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Brimage was preceded in death by her parents, Cal and Mary E. Jackson; husband, George Brimage; sisters, Mozelle Price, Emogene Smith and Katie Hunnicutt; brother, James Thomas Jackson.

The Brimage family suggests that donations may be made to the Bryan County Heritage Library, P.O. Box 153, Calera, OK 74730.

Family Hour will be from 5-6:00 P.M. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the 7th & Beech Church of Christ in Durant with Bro. John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Lucille's nephews.
