Jimsye Boman of Durant passed peacefully at home on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the age of 72. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James and Mary Estelle (King) Smith on April 8, 1951.
Jimsye was a court reporter and was a member of the Oklahoma Court Reporters Association (OCRA). In her retirement she enjoyed gardening, growing roses, quilting, and crafting. Her most notable quality was her love of others. She was known for being everyone's third mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and called her "Mom".
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Debbie Boman and significant other Josh Estep of Durant, Oklahoma, her sons Paul Boman and Sabrina Bergmann of Durant, Oklahoma and Christopher Wheeler of Wolfe City, Texas. Her legacy lives on with her grandchildren Jacob Jones, Brittany Boman, Ryleigh Boman, Miraya Wheeler, and Hayslee Wheeler, as well as her great-granddaughter Lucy Garrett. Jimsye is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents James and Mary Smith, her brother Scott Smith, her guardians Pete and Opal King, and her son Peter Boman.
Family Hour will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel. Jimsye will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Chase Stampley, Jonas Burns, Keydrick Stevenson, Rachel Stevenson, Todd Anderson, Amanda Cooper, Kaci Bagley, and Melista Lewis will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Jimsye's honor be made to Embrace Grace at https://embracegrace.com/donate to assist their unplanned pregnancy support groups.
